The beauty of made to rust garden products

Adding the finishing touches that really make the space is a very satisfying step indeed when renovating your garden. Here at Gap Garden Products, we provide all you need to create a winning display that’ll bring joy and beautiful scenery from season to season. Our handcrafted, British made products already feature in gardens big and small up and down the country as a result.

Our stunning, high quality garden accessories are available in a selection of finishes. In this blog post, we talk you through one of our most popular – made to rust.

What is ‘made to rust’?

Put simply, ‘made to rust’ is just that. This finish (which is also referred to as ‘ready to rust’) uses naturally occurring corrosion to create a uniquely rustic appearance.

Rust is created when metals, like iron and the steel we use to craft our beautiful garden products, are exposed to moisture and oxygen. The resulting reaction causes oxidation and a reddish-brown coating to appear on its surface.

Why choose the made to rust finish?

While traditionally rust is seen as a negative rather than a positive, when it is used in the right way it can ensure a beautiful flourish that’s great to look at and even easier to maintain. The red-brown colouring is an eye-catching addition to any garden space, whether you intend to use our ready to rust garden products widely or sparsely.

As well as being zero maintenance, the look of the made to rust finish also improves with time. In fact, it only gets better with age!

Which products are available in ready to rust?

We design, develop, stock and deliver a long list of products that are available in the made or ready to rust finish. Our most popular ready to rust products are our wind spinners and rockers. Providing a beautiful focal point in large gardens, small gardens, patio areas, decked areas, courtyards and balconies, our made to rust wind rockers really do grab your attention.

Each wind rocker design has been custom made using the highest quality British solid steel in our Northamptonshire factory. In addition to featuring unique designs, they also use robust 8mm poles that haven’t been split to ensure garden accessories that can be admired for the long haul.

The bare metal, ready to rust finish only adds to its charm, and will keep delivering the character you crave season after season for many years to come.
